How to find your bulb fitment

Most vehicles use one of a handful of standard bulb codes. Four quick checks will confirm yours before you order.

Step What to do Notes
1. Check the current bulb Read the code on the old bulb base or cap For example H7, H4, HB4
2. Check the handbook The vehicle handbook lists the headlight bulb type Confirms low versus high beam
3. Use a bulb finder Cross-reference by registration or model Use the vehicle selector on site
4. Confirm quantity Most vehicles need a pair High and low beam may differ
What to check before you order
  • Bulb fitment – Confirm your exact type (H1, H3, H4, H7, H11, HB3, HB4) before ordering.
  • Intended use – LED replacement headlight bulbs are not approved for use on UK roads and are officially for off-road use only.
  • Canbus and adapters – Some vehicles need an anti-flicker adapter to avoid bulb-out warnings.
  • Beam pattern – A correct dipped-beam cut-off matters, so aim the beam after fitting.
  • Quantity – Kits are supplied in pairs, and high and low beam fitments may differ.

LED headlight FAQs

These are the main questions customers ask before ordering LED headlight bulbs and conversion kits online.

What are LED headlight bulbs?

LED headlight bulbs replace your existing halogen bulbs with an LED light source. They give a brighter, whiter beam, draw less power, and last longer. DST's NIKEN PRO and NIKEN EVO kits are flip-chip designs that fit the original bulb housing and plug straight in.

Can I change my normal headlights to LED?

Yes, these kits replace your halogen bulbs and are plug and play for most fitments. LED replacement headlight bulbs are not approved for use on UK roads and are officially for off-road use only.

Which LED is better, H4 or H7?

Neither is better, they are different fittings. H4 is a single dual-filament bulb handling both high and low beam, covered by the NIKEN EVO kit. H7 is a single-filament bulb, covered by NIKEN PRO. Choose the one that matches your vehicle, not by number.

Are LED headlight conversion kits worth it?

For brightness, colour and lifespan, LED is a big step up from tired halogens. The value depends on fitment quality, the right beam pattern, and any adapter your vehicle needs. Confirm your exact bulb type before buying.

What are the downsides of LED headlight bulbs?

The main points to weigh are the occasional need for an anti-flicker adapter to avoid dashboard warnings, and aiming the beam correctly after fitting. A vehicle-correct kit avoids most issues.

How do I know which bulb fitment I need?

Check the code printed on your existing bulb base or in the vehicle handbook, for example H7 or HB4, or use the vehicle selector to look it up by model. Confirm whether your high and low beam use the same fitment.
